About Ever After Floral Design Studio
Ever After Floral Design is a flower shop established in 2007, with a purpose to design beautiful and meaningful flowers. Helen’s shop offers flower arrangements and plants for delivery or pick up for your every day occasions. They specialize in designing thoughtful flowers for life’s biggest moments like weddings & celebrations. In addition, their services include a wide range of social gatherings like intimate affairs, private events and corporate functions. At Ever After Floral Design they hope to provide gorgeous possibilities for all our clients floral needs.
Helen started Ever After Floral Design at the young age of 19. She knew that one thing would always be present in her work, passion. As a child of immigrant parents, she understood that an opportunity like hers to start a business was a luxury. With a desire to show her parents their hard work did not go unnoticed, she effectively ran a local flower shop. In 2012 she began to focus heavily on her event division. Successfully, she has completed over 500 events to date.
Ever·After /’evə//’ɑ:ftə/
(especially in the idiom “happily ever after“) is the proper form. It means to live (happily) until one’s death. It is typically used in fairy tales. “Ever and after” is sometimes heard but a corruption of “ever after.”
How did you become a Floral Designer?
I actually started my creative career path as a ballet dancer. Unfortunately I ended up finding out that I had a heart condition which forced me to put my plans on hold. My father saw my devastation and urged me to pour myself into flower making which I had been doing as a hobby for some time. At the age of 19 we opened up my first shop.
What does a Floral Designer need to have?
A certain something. What that something is I can’t really put into words. It’s beyond talent it’s dedication a bit of whimsy and tons of drive. When we have first time florists in the shop I can usually tell within the first few days if they have that certain something.
What does it mean being a Female Entrepreneur = #Girlboss?
It means nothing. I will tell you what it’s like being an entrepreneur and a kick ass one at that. It’s the freedom to own your own path in life. To set goals higher than anyone expect you to be able to surpass and exceeding those expectations.
I want to say it doesn’t mean anything and that it’s been a normal thing for decades but it’s not. It’s powerful and tragic as the same time. Being constantly commended for being a girl boss is a double edge sword. But you have to have passion to prevail as a female entrepreneur.
A moment that changed your life!
Oh gosh so many moments. Moments that aren’t mine, like when my parents fled Cuba for a better life for my sister and for future children which would eventually be me. Perhaps the most significant moment for me has been becoming a mother. Suddenly my time was so precious. That snow balled into me valuing myself and my work that much more.
3 Flowers you love the most!
It’s impossible to choose. I can confidently say I love peonies but that’s a given. I’m really into anthuriums right now. Ranunculus and more especially butterfly ranunculus are a current fave. Ask me in a week and the answer will be different.

Your Fashion Muse
I’m a bit out of touch with the fashion world. I’m a denim top and keds kinda girl. My link to the fashion world has to be my cousin Leslie Schor who is the Senior Fashion Editor for Babiekins Magazine and notably the best at curating an authentic styled shoot.
This 2017 Must Have
This year we have seen a demand for more simplistic and contemporary designs. I would say clear glass, marble or white and rose gold have been trending.

Closet outfit you could not live without…
When I’m not in my apron I like a simple knee length black dress and nude heals. When I’m feeling more day time I like a cotton button down with a great pair of denim skinnies and strappy leather flats.
Most Original Wedding or Special Event you have designed
So many to pick one! We had a couple come to Miami from Brazil for their wedding. Their planner contacted us for their florals. We were hooked from the very beginning when we were told she just wanted Tropical greenery in her bouquet. Still one of my all time favorite bouquets and sweetest couple ever.

Your hidden spot in Miami
The Venetian pool. We did a wedding a few years back here but haven’t been back since. It has such an old world look to it. Very magical at night.
