Reducing Inflammation with Healthy Smoothies
My fiance has been recovering from knee surgery he had some weeks ago. I was visiting Jucy Lu the other day, and after our cool business meeting, Vane recommended an anti-inflammatory smoothie for him.
Inflammation is a natural process that occurs in your body as a response to damaged cells, invading pathogens, irritating chemicals, and other negative factors. It is a normal part of your immune system’s reaction to these stimuli. By choosing healthier ingredients like Boswellia Serrata, many of which are perfect in smoothie recipes, Gabe was able to reduce the overall inflammation in his knee.
During the post I will tell you more about a great ingredient we added to his smoothies. It was a personal recommendation from Vane; it’s called Blue Majik.
Anti-inflammatory Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
– 1 Banana
– Almond Milk (3/4 of a glass)
– Spinach leaves
– Zinger Concentrate*
– Blue Majik
* Zinger Concentrate: you can buy it at Jucy Lu, they have a very nice variety of concentrates. This one includes: ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, maca and manuka honey. Anti-inflammatory, protect the brain, relief of nausea, immune boosting, maca is widely used to promote sexual function of both men and women.
Instructions
Cut and place the banana in slices in a smoothie blender (I use one of the cheap blenders I ordered online). Add almond milk, zinger concentrate, blue majik and spinach leaves. Blend until you get a green smoothie. Serve in a nice jar or glass, add a creative straw and enjoy!!!!!!
Blue Majik
Blue Majik is a propriety certified organic extract of Arthrospira platensis, a Nutrient Dense AquaBotanical™. Its stunning blue pigment is made up primarily of Phycocyanin, a powerful antioxidant which has the ability to quench free radicals and is a potent natural COX-2 inhibitor. In addition, with its additional bioactive compounds, has also been shown to alleviate chronic inflammation. The nutrients in Blue Majik may promote: the ease of painful effects from inflammation, antioxidant protection against free radicals as well as healthy immune and cardiovascular systems. This ingredient is great for muscle pain and fatigue too. If you are an active and fitness person, we encourage you to try it!
